Yep trying to get one going now that I'm shooting in raw, but it isn't working out, way to time consuming. I think.
Using ACR (2.5 might 3.+ be better?) with PSE3 and it seems I'm limited to opening one raw file at a time? So after I download all pictures and I do have thumbnails but would like to be able to take a better look at the shot than having to open up PSE. Jepgs you can look at in Preview.
Anyway opening up each one, doing what evere in ACR then clicking ok it then actually opens up in PSE so I can change it to a tif or jpeg by doing save as. Then on to the next photo. When working with Jpegs you can preview and dump, open PSE3 hold the shift key and open all you want, do what you want, at that point I work on each one individually, and then save. I have a couple things I'm going to try, but the way it stands now the process is rather a PITB.
I also knw there is a jepg with the raw fils but can't figure ut how to extract that. The Canon manual mentions it briefly.

Use the Canon Fileviewer to seperate your JPEG from your CRW.

Thanks!
The full version has both curves and levels, cropping, noise reduction and a very nice vibrance tool for bringing out colors. The free version has some of these I can't remember which ones though.
Their is a 15 day free trial for the Full Version and I highly recommend giving it a try.
More info on both programs can be found here

The latest version of ACR that came with PS CS 2 is also very good. Allows working on multiple images at the same time. Is not available with PS Elements? Andy wrote a tutorial that outlined the workflow in ACR some time back. I couldn't find it in a search today, perhaps someone else would be able to find it.

From what I gather, from the Adobe site, you can plug any of the ACR updates into PSE3-4. I don't think you get all the bells and whistles tho'.
I have been doing a serch of this whole site on ACR, Raw etc. I didn't find it either. Did figure out something interesting with PSE..If you have FCM turned on you can load your jpeg or raw without tagging, make duplicates close them out reopen and tag as you like aRGB or sRGB..Helps with Smugmug:D
Depending upon what camera you own (sounds like you're using a Canon) you can get a free utility from Canon called Digital Photo Professional that I use all the time. It will give you big thumbnails of your raw shots, and allow you to click on them and make them full screen. If you want, you can make adjustments to the RAW files and save them, too.
You have to own a Digital Rebel XT or higher to get this utility free.

The friend I bough the reb from made me a copy of the 'new' software. Haven't even looked to see what was on the CD.
It's entirely possible that you have the software for DPP on that disk. As I said, I use it all the time.
