New Gallery on Move Photos

I can't get a direct answer on this from SmugMug support, so I'm going to assume this feature did not carry over to the new interface.
In old SM, you could create a new gallery on the fly when moving photos. In New SM, the only way I've found to move to a new gallery is by creating an empty gallery before moving photos. This is not a super-efficient method to sort through a large upload dump or reorganize. I want the ability to create new galleries on the fly from groups of images.
To take proper advantage of the new SM drag and drop Organize mode interface, you should be able to multi-select a bunch of photos and drag them to a category-level folder and have it offer to create a new gallery from those photos inside that folder.
Also, I would like to be able to collect files through the drag and drop interface. I want to construct virtual galleries from multiple files at once, not painfully one at a time.
