No photo numbering?

I have a customer that wants to talk about photos in a few soccer games I photographed. Guess what? No numbering of the photos! We have a pretty tough time talking about the ones she wants to talk about over the phone. This type of situation happens all the time. Why no numbering in the galleries? i.e. 1 of 126, 17 of 126, 74 of 126.

its been requested I think. In the meantime there are, afaik, two workarounds. Either stick to the smugmug style, which still offers a counter below the big photo, or use something like lightroom to auto number the new title field of each photo. That still leaves room for a description in the caption field.

on trying it for myself, I see that lightroom can't autonumber the title field. There is an LR plugin to do this (donateware) at:

its a bit fiddly at first but seems to do the job.
