Options to change gallery slideshow timing

How do I change the time that each photo is displayed in a slideshow? I'm not asking about slideshows which have been added as a Content block, but rather the slideshow which runs when the user clicks the Slideshow button which appears above most Galleries. That is, some kind of site-wide setting for SmugMug's default Slideshow.

+1 Legacy even allowed the not logged in user to change the slideshow speed to meet THEIR needs. This capability needs to be brought back. Also several folks have commented on having the filmstrip across the top when the cursor was moved to the top. You might have thought in the New SM, MORE capabilities would have been ADDED, not REMOVED.

If only they'd just go through the entire list of Slideshow Parameters (many of which are used by nearly everyone who had a slideshow) & just add all those parameters / options back in.... I mean, do we really have to have a separate thread for each? People will be asking for all the parameters one by one. Just make it easy & put them back in. That code was very simple when we did it ourselves. How hard is it for SmugMug to just add it for the whole community? I won't bother asking the other obvious question for the umpteenth time.

Haha! No, of course--- you sure won't get any argument from me no matter what you wanna beg for around here! I'm quite thrilled to see that there's so much interest in all the old options... Found this - it's for building an embedded Flash slideshow. However, I was using the JFriend javascript slideshow on my home page. I still am on Legacy and can copy you the code if that helps get you parameters. Have not looked on DGRIN to see if his stuff is still there.

Thanks Michael-- I wasn't completely sure about the wording, but gave it a couple votes anyway. The "Slideshow Content Block"....would / does that also include the same options as the old slideshows would've had? In other words, it would simplify things to have all available SmugMug slideshow parameters (as much as possible) be the same for each Content Block, Gallery, Embeddable Slideshow, etc. It would be excellent if, for once & for all, if we all had one convenient list to refer to. So the implementers looking into this could simply go down the parameters listed here: http://smugshowbuilder.appspot.com/ and in JFriend's list of parameters for the HTML slideshow http://www.pixel99.com/smugcustom/slideshow/jfriend-html5-slideshow-reference.pdf ; these lists have plenty of overlap. They could then see what we've had available already & are missing, and decide choose a generous number of parameters to include on a multi-functional list.

Please note that some parameters interfere with others, so that kind of thing would need to be spelled out. The first list I linked, http://smugshowbuilder.appspot.com/ is great for seeing the valid values, default value & checklist of desired values. However, it doesn't provide a description of the results. Many are self-explanatory, but others are not, and I get a "404 Error" when trying to reach the old descriptions through a provided link. So for instance, "borderColor" is pretty obvious. And I know what "crossFadeSpeed" is, but some folks won't, and also won't know details such as the fact that certain numbers above or below 350 won't change it, etc. Ok, here's hoping for the best!

Be sure to vote for the Feature Request Michael put in: http://feedback.smugmug.com/forums/17723-smugmug/suggestions/4341294-add-options-for-gallery-slideshow Yeah, there was an old "Help" page that had a whole list of slideshow parameters including descriptions of the results, and I looked at it less than a week ago. But I can't find it now. Everything that was convoluted before is 10x more convoluted now, and much of it isn't yet labeled with "New SmugMug" or "Legacy SmugMug".... greatly needed. But anyway, I linked the appspot list you found for MBonocore as well as the JFriend list so that they could at least see what parameters we've been used to enjoying. And yes, John's stuff is still available here on DGrin. I'm still on Legacy too, and will be for awhile.

FEEDBACK area is useless right now. Limited number of issues you can vote on per person because you have a finite number of votes to use. Too many issues to be limiting our voting rights. Remove the voting limitation. I'll see if I have any votes left....GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Yes... Please allow us to set the speed of our slideshows. This is a defect that makes me think of leaving Smugmug every time I encounter a need to slow down or speed up a show.
