A clever spider ?

This spider had 4 dead Syritta pipiens hoverflies around it, 2 under the petal and 2 on top. I thought it was a bit careless to leave the hoverflies in full view on the top of the petals (ie it would scare off potential prey). What actually happened was a bit of a surprise as male Syritta pipiens on the flight patrols kept on eye-balling the dead hovers and then trying to mate with them. I didn't actually see the spider catch another one but it was obviously onto a good thing.
