Masked Password

In the legacy version of Smugmug, gallery passwords were not masked in gallery settings. Therefore, I never documented the passwords outside of Smugmug. When users have forgotten the passwords, I would just look it up in gallery settings.
Now, in the new Smugmug, the passwords are masked. Is there a setting choice that would allow me to unmask the passwords. I can understand having a masking the password during entry to avoid "over the shoulder" lookers, but not in the admin panel.
Doing a reset of the passwords is not a good option. Our photographs are the high school marching band. Parents have preferred to have the galleries password protected. If I reset the passwords, then I don't have a way to communicate to parents of years past what the new passwords are.
Thanks for any help that can be offered.
