Hello,
I recently migrated my site to the new SmugMug. When I view a photo that was uploaded at 4036 x 2645, it only displays at 600x393 and on the homepage it seems to stretch the 600x393 image instead of displaying a more appropriately sized image for the theme (Spartan). Thus, my homepage looks terrible! Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
Thanks!
Karen

Sorry, I meant to include the link but forgot: http://coloradocollege.smugmug.com/Student-Photos/i-snLBgC8/A
So when I used it on the homepage, it was stretched out and looked pretty bad.
My only solution was to upload it a 2nd time, in a separate gallery, and it had to be not hidden and not password protected, and also had to be viewable at the original size (which makes it vunerable for stealing). That I am not happy about, but the end result is a nice photo on the home page. I haven't worked out another way of doing it.
The other possibility you may have is in the layout of your homepage - that determines the size of your images that you have on your homepage. The larger you make it, the larger the photos become too.
I did put a question up for the smugmug team, but alas no response (yet).
link to my page is in the signature:
The image is showing to me at 1280 x 839, the largest allowed by your Gallery Settings. The Theme seems to have a different image selected currently, so I can't really tell what was wrong there.
Did you set it to fill or fit? If you want to show a large image, you'll need to make sure that you have large display sizes allowed in its gallery, as you figured out. I'm not sure what else we can do there, since we don't create larger display sizes if you have them specifically blocked in your settings.
