Sharegroups & 2.0

So are the old style share groups going away ?

I took the plunge already and find myself wanting to build the equivalent of sharegroups using the new folder organization but there appears to be a catch.

I can't figure out how to copy / link pre-existing galleries into a new "shared' folder without moving the galleries from their old location.

I was hoping to be able to replicate it much like I used to do with the old and annoying legacy sharegroups so that I had a default site structure of Year/Date/Gallery that was hopefully private and then expose only the folders I wanted by passworded share groups.

Did I miss something ?

Thx

Why not just make a "page" and add folders or galleries to the custom page?

Thank You - shows what happens when you get hung up on semantics - page vs share...

Actually - I'm going to take that back. If I drag a Folder or Gallery onto that page no highlight and nothing happens - am I still missing something ?

    Thanks again ...

Hmm, maybe you need to make a folder and add "Galleries I choose"? Not sure

the green highlight bit is only right near the top of the page. but you can add a navigation->galleries box and then 'galleries I choose' to pick certain galleries. e.g.

    http://www.paulbrockphotography.co.uk/Sharegrouptest

all go to different parts of my folder heirarchy. Only problem is the breadcrumb doesn't reflect the sharegroup e.g. sharegrouptest ->DJ ironik rather than party photography-> DJ Ironik

Can't remember if legacy sharegroups did this though...

What browser and operating system are you using? I've found on my home computer running Windows 8 that I can only use drag & drop operations in smug on IE, they don't work on Firefox or Chrome.

If you're experiencing the same problem I've logged it in the Bug Reporting forum, here.

OS X Lion & Safari - it all works great apart from the problem I'm describing which is not really related to drag & drop other than that's the way I'd like to achieve it.
