EDIT: *Thought this was a Red Admiral however I've been informed now that it's a small Tortoise shell, it does look like it for sure - http://butterfly-conservation.org/679-754/small-tortoiseshell.html.

This little butterfly found its way into our house. after frequently flying about and landing on the "stamen" of a poppy in a picture we have on our wall (Bless), I coaxed it onto my hand where it afforded me a few nice opportunities before heading back off to its flower on the wall...and yes, I have awful nails as I bite them :)

Hehe, thank you Brian. It was quite funny, almost like having a pet butterfly. It was more than happy to sit on my hand. It would do a pre-flight vibration and then take off, flying around the room a few times before always making its way back to the picture. I'd collect it back on my hand again before it would repeat the process. That went on for about 15 minutes haha :D
