It was quite a windy day yesterday but despite that we had easily 30 or 40 hovers flying around. Problem was due to the wind they were zipping about all over the place. I tried quite a few in flight shots and got mostly soft images. Of the two I got below, one is quite a heavy crop and the other was one just about alight onto a flower.
..but first, a couple of shots of them on flowers.
In-Flight shots
And finally this one was actually a random snap with the 100L at my sons sunflower which started life as a lowly seed and is now 8ft tall!!! As you can appreciate, I couldn't reach up there but having spotted a hoverfly enjoying the enormous flower, I pointed the 100 at it hit the button. I thoroughly expected to bin the shot but have to admit I was very surprised by the actual shot when I got a proper look at it on the computer.
