Last weekend I had the pleasure of hooking up with fellow smugmugger, DAVEV and two other gentlemen for a shooting of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Even though the day was cloudy and cold our timing was perfect. The falls were frozen enough to add character yet flowed enough to give us what we were looking for.

DAVEV, thanks again for the invite and the tips.

They look very nice. The first gives a good impression of the water and ice, and the fourth is alsmost an abstract. thumb.gif

    very nice!
I love the texture of that ice at the base of the falls. Very cool to see photos from 2 different photographers at the same location. Thanks!

    Hey Adam.
I thought you said your shots didn't turn out? Looks to me the Sony did just fine.
I think you're to tough of a critic of you're own shots.

I think the "group" is going to go to the state capital and cathedral for the
next outing. The talk is Jan. 14th (Sat). It should be a little warmer this time.

They also have a new (different) site: http://cameratalk.org/mn/
    in case you're interested.

Did your eagle shots turn out? We saw two eagles when we got to the
river, but I only had my 18-55 kit lens with me so I couldn't get a shot of them.

Anyway, I had a good time shooting the breeze (and pics) with you and the other guys.
Hope we can do it again sometime.
    dave.

Thank you Dave and everyone else for the kind comments.

The eagle shots didn't turn out. I had enough lens but it picked up 200mm of falling snow between me and the bald eagles making the shot way too fuzzy.

Let me know when you want to hook up again. I was actually thinking of shooting the Christmas house in Chanhassen (the most lit up house in MN).
