Yea, thats one problem I have with shooting in the dark with my D60, very lagging AF and my lens doesnt make the it any better, I am looking to get a USM lens soon to maybe enhance the the autofocusing speed, but until then all I got is 28-80mm Canon.
If you guys have any suggestion for good sport lenses, particularly BMX, please share it, I would greatly appreciate it

You can try pre-focusing. For example, the lip. Or you could use the
lenses hyperfocal distance to get the best DOF front and back (of the
focal point).

Yea I usually try to prefocus, but normally I dont know how high or far he will go, so its very hard for me to focus on something when I dont know what to expect, but normally I do prefocus, thanks for the tips.
Can you explain better on how to use hyperfocal distance on the lens ?
