light box for external (html-)content?!

hey there,
I would like to display (dynamical) text content from another site of mine as part of my photo/video presentation with SmugMug.
question therefore: is there any way to use a lightbox-like overlay to feature external (html-)content?
thanks for hints+help!
ps: I am aware Iframes don´t work; in this case I would actually prefer an overlay like display that doesn´t directly insert content in the SmugMug-page itself....
