Font icon issue under Firefox

Just migrated to the new lovely Smugmug and found an issue when using Smokey theme.
On the homepage, the little gallery and folder icons next to gallery and folder titles show up fine under Chromium but displays as weird characters under Firefox. Same thing for the little pause, next and back buttons on the slideshow found on my homepage.
Is this a problem specifc to the Smokey theme? How can I fix it?
As a temporary fix I use the little CSS code found here http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=1889502 but it only disabled the folder and gallery icons but not the next, back and pause buttons (that I still need to keep).
