I have been waiting for Smugmug support to get back to me for 13 days... NOW I'M DESPERATE
This is the latest message I sent them. If ANYONE can help I would appreciate it.
I have two smugmug sites (old and new) and NEITHER works properly now.
The new site is a complete disaster so I'm trying to get my old site working because I have event photos that need to be delivered YESTERDAY
OLD SITE http://christopherwood.smugmug.com
As you can see on this page - I have built in a search function to my events. This does not work now for the following reason!!
*** The key words are not being displayed or searched properly.
EXAMPLE 1 - I created a new gallery and began uploading. http://christopherwood.smugmug.com/Events/2013/2013-Beer-Run/31178217_kg3g2x#!i=2697743098&k=vNhHjfX
The keywords ARE embedded in the image but they are not displaying under the image. HOWEVER, if I click the "edit" keywords link then I can see them.
EXAMPLE2 - I was worried it was in my gallery settings that I had created this problem so I tried uploading a few images to an old gallery that still works properly.
**** This link takes you directly to the last picture in what was the old gallery. I can see the keywords listed without problem here. http://christopherwood.smugmug.com/Events/2012/2012-Wild-Willow-5K/25645786_QT4DGK#!i=2118338965&k=tkPqrkC
**** If you look at the next image in the gallery (the new images I uploaded) the keywords are hidden again (although they do exist if I attempt to "add" or "edit".
EXAMPLE3 - What is really weird is that if I do a site-wide search for this particular race (keyword "2013beer") then 4 of the images are actually returned (out of a few hundred uploaded)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NEW SITE
As a "band-aid" solution to having my search function destroyed on the new site (when I accidentally upgraded) I was going to just put a generic search bar on the page that searched my whole site. But that does not work either BECAUSE
http://sdphotostudio.smugmug.com/Events/2013/2013-San-Diego-Beer-Run-1/i-wF4JpmZ
Even though this site displays the keywords. Even when I click directly on the key word... it does not find the image that I clicked on the keyword from (Returns Gallery is Empty). That seems really messed up to me
I don't care which site I can get working and I don't care how it gets working!!! But I need to deliver these pictures by the end of today. PLEASE HELP.
So this is the gallery that I want to become the final version http://christopherwood.smugmug.com/Events/2013/2013-Beer-Run/31178217_kg3g2x#!i=2697743098&k=vNhHjfX
Are you telling me that EVENTUALLY my searches will work here?
Can you give me an idea of how long this will take? In the past it was instant (I have done this many many times over the past 5 years on Smug)... and my client expects immediate delivery when I do these events for her.
Give me 30 min to get to a computer to check out that gallery. Thanks!
Any new thoughts?
Yes, I have verified, it just needs to be indexed. Once it is, you should be good to go.
They were added in Lightroom before uploading... 1400 out of 3000 pictures have currently uploaded
Thanks for emailing SmugMug. I'm terribly sorry about the issue with your keywords. I can reproduce exactly what you are describing on my end. It is tied to an issue we have been trying to track down, and are hoping to get sorted out quickly. Unfortunately I don't know when we will have the fix for it ready. But hopefully it will be very soon. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time. If we can do anything else for you please let us know.
