HTML Content Block rewriting code

Problem: I created a blog using pages and HTML content blocks. I entered and formatted text via html and css. The text displayed as I wanted it. The next day the text formatting had changed. I looked in the HTML content block and discovered that in every paragraph containing a link or links, the system had removed my closing </p> tag and placed it immediately before the first <a> tag. I tried to redo some of the paragraphs but when I do it has no effect on the text displayed and when I reopen the HTML content box the </p> tag has been moved again to a position immediately before the first <a> tag.

You can see how the posts originally looked here: http://www.photographybyolli.com/Blog/July-2013 on the second entry for 23 July titled, Irritating Flappy Mirror Woman. You can see the problem I have described in every paragraph containing a link in every other post on that page.

I also used an HTML content box on my About page, but the paragraph on that page that contains links has not yet been affected. (http://www.photographybyolli.com/About)

I also noticed the same issue on Michael Bonocore's site in his blog section: http://www.mb-photography-sf.com/Blog/How-Social-Media-Saved-My-Dogs

Again, check the paragraphs with links to see the issue.

Technical: Windows 8 on PC. Checked on FF v22, Chrome v28 and IE10

Thanks to someone on another thread (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=237646) I now know that I can restore my formatting by replacing the <s tag with the <div> tag. I have done this with one post on this page http://www.photographybyolli.com/Blog/July-2013. The post is dated 31 July and titled The New Smugmug. I will give it a couple of days to see if it is stable and, if so, redo the rest.

However, even if this solves the immediate problem, it doesn't resolve the underlying problem with using the <p> tag in conjunction with <a> tags.
