How do I get comments on each photo?

Hi,

I have noticed on some other websites they have a comments section for each photo. I managed to get a comments section on each gallery but I can't figure out how to add a comment field to each individual photo. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I found info on how to allow comments for a gallery here:

But there is nothing on how to allow comments on individual photos like there used to be on my legacy site. Anyone??

It should just be automatic once you display the whole photo. There should be a little balloon/bubble shaped icon. There may be a setting to turn them off and on, though, not sure. But look there first. E.g. if you go all the way down to an image in my site it's on the bottom right when a photo is displayed as a full page image (not on the home screen slideshow though, and not on galleries).

You'll find it in the gallery under Gallery Setting - Social - Allow Comments .

In the "smugmug" gallery style the comment block is visible beneath the photo.

In other gallery styles (where you click on a photo to get the "slideshow" or "lightbox" view) there is a comment bubble at the lower right of the displayed photo. Clicking it will show previous comments and allow input of a comment. Unfortunately the tools, nav arrows and caption disappear after two seconds.

Of course, users must be logged into facebook or smugmug to lease comments - anonymous comment are currently disallowed.

So there's no way to automatically see comments on individual photos without clicking on the bubble? Is there a workaround for this? I'd like to know that there's a comment without having to search every photo ... I know I had some in legacy but can't remember which photos!

Me too. A simple way for SM to let us see the numbers would be to display the comment-count next to, or within, the bubble.

To see all comments on your pics, go to Account Settings > Stats > Comments
To set up email alerts for future comments, there's a setting in Account Settings > Me > Account
