Thank you Brian, the LB's are appearing a fair bit and feasting or at least doing something destructive to the black fly.

Thanks re. the light. I still tend to get a lot of hotspots on the more shiny subjects but I've adjusted my exposure settings from 1/200th ISO 200 and quite high powered flash to 1/250th, ISO 250 and a reduced flash output. They seem to give more pleasing results.
