HTML in Description

I have a gallery, and a separate web page for the photos in that gallery.

How do I add an HTML link to the web page in the description for just that gallery?

I tried both HTML and Text blocks, but they are either site-wide, or folder-wide. It worked in the legacy version.

In the customiser, you need to click the link to "make this page custom", which will allow you to put custom content on just that gallery.

But I had no trouble just adding that link to my gallery description from the Gallery Settings menu instead. This is the description I entered:

Hello there. <a href="http://www.utahrails.net/bingham/highland-boy-bleichert.php">Test!</a>

And the link was clickable.

I've also continued to place links in both the gallery descriptions and in photo captions using <a href= statments - and the links continue to work.

I have another gallery with a link in the description, and it works just fine.

But in this gallery, the link will not work. (??!!??)

Looking at the source code, the URL is in the description, but not in the metadata (see attachment).

Before I uploaded a slide show to my home page I used a single image and in Custiomize/home page/photo I used a URL to link to my galleries. Now, with the sideshow, that click for url is no longer there. Is there any workaround for that? Can HTML create a link from the slideshow page? I understand <h ref (etc) with an image but lost now at this.
