[Fixed] image sitemap

Asked this before in "bug reporting" but it seems it's bit abandoned by moderators, manager and heroes at the moment: where can I get a "sitemap-galleryimages" from and when / how often is the normal sitemap recreated?

Google Webmaster Tools with RSS feed sitemap would be just splendid, BUT smugmug has blocked that access with robots.txt files

SUPPORT: What is the plan for sitemaps so that we can get a good ranking on SEO?

Sitemaps are updated every 7 days.

You should already have a sitemap - just add '/sitemap-index.xml' to the end of your standard URL. That gives you a link to a second file that contains links to all your galleries. The galleryimages one that Jörg refers to still doesn't seem to appear for many people though. However all I did was tell Google Webmaster tools about the /sitemap-index.xml file and it seems to be chewing it's way through it

Basically the same questions are there, but they're not getting answered. 99% of the thread is from prior to the New Smug. A bunch of stuff is evidently different now... People are wanting to know about anything/everything that's changed.

What For? I had a specific question about a sitemap-file "sitemap-galleryimages" which some of us have, some don't. Even Andy who got one, couldn't or wouldn't answer the question (straight) where it comes from and / or how to get one.

Hi Jörg

This problem was actually specific for new accounts or migrated accounts not getting updated. A fix for this will be going live very shortly. We are doing some more testing on it.

I checked five legacy and five new SM sites. Zero sitemap-galleryimages.xml on the legacy sites, all new sites had it.
If it ever was available for legacy sites, they only fixed it for new SM. Sorry.

What URL do you try to analyze? For the one in your signature a robots.text exists (without a sitemap mentioned in it), but the site is dead.
If this is your new site http://www.jdleech.com - it should work.

It appears that I DO have a Site Map with Index AND Gallerimages listed. Wonder why I have so many galleryimages files? I do have over 20,000 images on the site. They are correct that I do not have phone number or email address listed on the site.

But why is it that Register.com can not seem to find my smugmug sitemap? THat bothers me quite a bit! Any suggestions as to what is happening here?

Your sitemap is working just fine and for anyone that knows where to look, is's listed at the bottom of your robots.txt file for any search engine crawler to see.

I'm not familiar with your domain registrar, but it could be some sort of upsell scheme or it might be a generic message of sorts. For questions on their message, I can only recommend that you get in touch with your registrar directly.

Yes, if you have a lot of publicly available photos, the sitemap gets larger. That's quite normal.
