I understand I can keep my legacy site while playing around with the new design. I have been looking but I can't find anything about how to logon to the new smugmug site.

Please help.

My site is www.wallacehuo.info

Have you gone through migration yet? You need to migrate in order to have access to the new smug.

See the help page at http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/1212681-making-the-move-from-legacy-to-new-smugmug.

I just found out that I can't move my customizations to the new smugmug. Does the new smugmug support customizations including html, css etc?

FIRST STEP is on the legacy site email yourself a copy of your customization on the advanced
customize page. Handy to look thru later and see what you did on legacy.

None of your advanced customizations will transfer. The html/text pages will transfer but might need
to be prettied up. Same with gallery descriptions and captions, html will transfer.

All div and class names in your legacy CSS will be different so new ones will have to be found.

Have not found any way to apply CSS and have it flow down yet. Like different banners on each
category/folder and flow down to sub-folders and galleries.

On every page in NewSmug you can select (apply to) "entire site", "homepage", "all folders", "all
galleries", "just this folder" or ""just this gallery" to add content like CSS boxes, html boxes, text
boxes. Once you get used to it it's not so bad.

Thanks Allen. My biggest concerns are whether I can use

    1. my own navigation bar which I am using now (to be consistent with my other website)
    2. whether I can have a page of clickable images, in which I click on the image it will take me to another site address
    3. In Journal mode can I make the pictures smaller since my texts are very long for each image
    4. Will info such as date of last update be available under the new smugmug

About the CSS stuff could a smugsmug hero give an indication about it?

Just looking thru some of your legacy site pages. For your guestbook I'd create a new page, drag an
html block/widget to it, copy you current description html content and paste it in the new box. HTML
boxes/widgets come with a tab for its own CSS. Drag a comment widget to below that and in its
settings point to your legacy guestbook to transfer it's comment over.

For your nav it's a little trickier not sure if you can add the two lines to it. Ah, breaks do work.

I would migrate and start playing with it. It's in a sandbox so only you see it. And you can jump back
and forth between NewSmug and legacy at any time. I do all my contents changes in legacy and do only
prettiness/configurrations on the NewSmug and it supposed to not affect the old site.

Just do not unveil the new site, you have lots of time to work on it, months.
