Expand photo caption with the Smugmug style gallery?

I would like to expand horizontally the image caption in Smugmug Gallery style (Smugmug design). This thread - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=239180 - outlines how to do this in Journal gallery style but can this be done for Smugmug gallery style? I did get a PM from another user who suggested a CSS code but that didn't work. I find that Smugmug's design and handling of the image caption in new Smugmug to be very lame. I'd also love to the move (but NOT remove) the page numbering out of the way so that the image caption would be close to the bottom of the image. Its position seems orphaned in the new design. (Note: I apologize to some of you for 'wearing you out' as I pursue this issue. But this is a major issue with me. Thanks in advance for anything you can offer to help solve this issue.

Hi Allen: Thanks for responding to my post. I'm a little confused by the info in your link. Were you actually able to modify the image caption area to perform like what's in your link, or is that just something you'd like to do. If you've done that (which I like a lot), can you share any code or info on how you did it.

Hoping to hear from others on this subject which is a big deal for me. Thanks.
