In New SM what's the difference btw FOLDERS and GALLERIES

. In the legacy site, I only have Gallery Categories and Galleries. My temporary site is showing all my galleries twice - once as FOLDERS and once as GALLERIES. Do Folders replace Gallery Categories?
Can someone clarify? I only want them to show up once on the page.

    Yeah, folders are like the categories in Legacy SM. So if you have a Folder entitled 'Landscapes' then inside you have specific galleries where the photos live for example 'Yellowstone.'

    I think what you are trying to avoid is having a folder named Landscapes with a 'single' gallery inside of it named Landscapes. If you look at my site under Browse you will see a similar situation. Most of my folders have more than one gallery in them. But I have a couple with only 'one' and so those I would prefer to auto open.

    There may be a work around creating a 'Galleries' page instead with mixed content (folders and galleries).

    Akushnir,

    From what I can tell, all the folders listed on your page are "Gallery Categories", which is correct. After clicking each category, they then list all the galleries in that folder.

    The reason you have the same gallery showing twice is:
    - once from your "Folders, Galleries, and Pages" content block (it's a gallery)
    - once from your "Galleries" content block
