Hide/Show Frustration

I have a combined gallery with 1,000 pictures which were uploaded from my cell phone.

For some reason due to the settings on the phone, many photos were set as hidden, with that annoying eye over the thumbnails.

I can click on a single hidden photo and under edit I can choose Show.

vice-versa, I can click on a single unhidden photo and it displays Hide.

I can not select all and choose hide, and this is very frustrating.

I can also not sort by hidden or unhidden so that I can just select one type of the other.

I can also not just off that annoying overlay with the eye.

Why can't we sort photos when organizing by hidden or not hidden OR why can't we have a menu option for both HIDE and SHOW when a mix of photos is selected? (Or why can't we remove the overlay as an option when signed in?)

VERY FRUSTRATING- as the old operation did not work in this manner.

Open gallery, go to organize. Click the wrench and find hide photo/show photo. Select the ones for each action.

I guess, although I took a long time to try to explain it, what I posted was not clear.

How to I bulk SHOW when I SELECT ALL and the only option displayed is HIDE? (And vice-versa, because there seems to be no ryme or reason as to why only SHOW or only HIDE is displayed?)

Here is another instance... there is no option to set these photos to SHOW- as HIDE is the only option, but you can see the photos are already hidden:

It would be nice to have an option to SELECT HIDDEN or SELECT SHOWN. Or even SORT BY HIDDEN or SHOWN.
