Sublink Dropdown Appearance

Hello,
I am looking for a way to change the appearance of the sublink's in the navbar. I found one forum post on here asking the same thing but it does not appear that anyone has offered a solution so far. I am trying to get the big distracting box that surrounds the sublinks to disappear and instead just have a dropdown sublink that pretty much matches the parent link.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
