I love SM but...

Ya know, SM rolled out the NEW SM in an attempt to make the customization process easier for those w/o code experience and that's great. I spent months leaning on the heroes and others on this forum learning how to code CSS and html well enough to create my legacy site... been tweaking it since December of 2005... Problem is they missed the mark as far as easy of customization goes...
1. No documentation of anything on roll out :dunno... it's better now, but no where near great if they expect US to code the custom touches... I still have no idea where all the customization tools within the NEW SM are found... other users seems to stumble upon them and post their new discoveries.:scratch
2. roll out a list of the divs and classes on the bits and pieces that everyone wants to customize ... or better yet
3. look back at the most commonly created customizations and build them into the drop down configuration boxes to make the customization truly idiot proof...:bow
Please don't tell me to read the blog... if I have the email notifications of when things got added to that I am subscribed to then I would know when and were to read what I need to read...
Oh... those still don't work:cry
Venting over for now...

The documentation in the 1st post is nice now... a bit tardy on the release as I said...
As for the forum help... yes you know that I know that it's there and great, but it's mostly other users like myself and the helper monkeys there... I would like official SM releases on this stuff so we the consumer do not have to figure it all out on our own.
I have also seen the sticky(s) that are there for some neat customizations. My gripe is that if SM is going to make the customizing easy, then build it into the click boxes.
Rounded borders, drop shadows, a simple easy way to change drop menu look and feel. Now I know making a nav bar is way simplier than when I taught my self how to do it. Allen took up the cause and tried to make it easy, but it still was not easy for many... so I applaud SM for the easy drop menu stuff... but it still falls short of full customization and easy for the non-informed CSS html user.
Nice to see you Andy... you're the reason I'm here, still here... and will remain here. YOU kept me going when I was going to quit way back in '05
