Search Results Style?

How do you change the Search Results thumbnails? I'd like them to be College Portrait. as the current square style looks bad because it cuts off the head of the subject.

This has already been reported as a defect in the thread result of search shows thumbnail style in tight grid, doesn't honor design default.
