I've been using Smugmug for a long time, but I don't sell stuff, just want to put up my pictures.
I really don't like the new format and don't have time right now to figure it all out.
I logged in, created some galleries and then put links on my page. Now I find the links don't work for anyone but me. There was some setting I found where I could change "Smug Preview" to Birds, but my friends still can't see the galleries.
Do I have to go back and make sure I am in legacy and then re-do the three galleries?
It seems like the colors and stuff are more modern looking and I suppose there must be extra features for people who are making a commercial site, but for someone like me who just wants a simple site, it is just very frustrating.
This is getting off the original subject but I really liked being able to just click the word "edit" to edit the gallery title. Now there are several steps to it. Just one annoyance.

I ended up going into my account in legacy mode and redid all three galleries.
I know the trend in websites is to sacrifice utility for "looking cool" but I don't like it. Too bad they can't have a barebones option available like they used to have text only options.
Took me forever when I first saw the new page, to find out how to edit the title of the gallery. The word "edit" used to be right there. Now you have to do two or three extra steps.
Not just Smugmug...it's suddenly everywhere.
Please check out my gallery of customisations for the New SmugMug, more to come!
