Publish to Facebook Problem

I emailed Smugmug but did not get a helpful answer, so I will try here....

I have frequently used the Publish to Facebook feature since it came out, and it always worked fine. Now it sort of works but now the pictures sort of load up in Facebook and require authorization, and then they are randomly thrown in the album I've created and the carefully selected order is gone. Rearranging them again in Facebook is laborious for a larger album, especially when I've already done that in Smugmug.

The answer I got was that they can't control what Facebook does with the pictures after they are sent, but it is mighty strange that they always stayed in order before the Smugmug upgrade, and now they do not. Has Facebook really changed something simultaneously?

Is anyone else having this issue? Maybe it really is just coincidentally something to do with my Facebook?

I'd appreciate any help on this! Thanks.

Well I just tried it for the third time and now all of the pictures are in order, but exactly opposite of the order I have them in on Smugmug.

Yeah, unfortunately, nothing has changed with the Publish to FB tool, except a change in the look. FB changes the way they accept 3rd party photos all the time. They do their own processing of the photos, and sometimes, one photo may take 60 seconds to be processed on their server, while others are processed almost instantly, therefore shuffling photos out of order. I will try to dig up some more information on my end, but this sadly, is most likely the way FB is handling the incoming photos, which of course, we have no control over (I wish):cry

They may change their ways frequently, but somehow my albums always made it there intact until the first one I published after unveiling. I guess this is just coincidentally the first time it made any difference at all for me.

The albums not only used to get there intact, I really couldn't change anything about them once there, like captions for example. Totally different now. Strange.

It's not a feature I'll use much anymore.
