about custom cursor

last week i tried to add a custom cursor to part of my menu
but it did not work
i could change normal cursors like pointer text alias etc. but not (url),auto

so my question ;
is it not supported at all ?
or perhaps only site-wide ?
or , i missed something and i need a special code ?
