Can I display Image number X of Y in landscape collage style gallery?

So I used the image number all the time to refer clients to specific pictures in a gallery back in the old design days. Is there a way to display that information in the landscape collage gallery style? Maybe after you click on the picture and go into the lightbox?

If no, does anyone have any suggestions about how I can say, "go look at this gallery, you'll see your set of photos start about here"

If it helps to visualize my problem, I have an old lady who needs some help finding herself in this gallery: http://www.trishtunney.com/Clients/NCLR-Gala/2012-Dinner-Portraits/n-GmWFF/

thanks!!!
Trish

Crap, I used a dumb subject line, didn't I? I didn't mean "number of images in the lightbox". I meant number of images in the gallery. And since it doesn't display anywhere in the gallery view (landscape collage style) any more, then can it at least display in the lightbox?

    Does that make more sense?

    thanks!

    Fixed the thread title, better?

I think I've seen this mentioned in other threads.

How about just the number of photos in the gallery. Is there a place where that is displayed. I'm doing things like telling people "your photos start about three people after the lady with the bright blue dress". i.e. I'm starting to sound like an idiot.

Is there a way to display the number of photos in a gallery even?

    thanks!

Has anyone found an answer to this? I'd also liked the old SmugMug style gallery where they had, for example, "1 of 20, 2 of 20, 3 of 20... etc..." to identify photos by number sequence for reference. I would like to see this in the Lightbox style gallery I have for my (Moss) theme. I did a search, but only this thread came up. ne_nau.gif

Is there a possible CSS code for this feature?

    Thanks.

I'm working with another client where I need this again. His images start at image number 326. I can't even give him a page number. Is there some way to maybe javascript the image number into the caption or something. I am starting to find this unusable. Which sucks, because this gallery style was so cool looking I built my whole site around it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone say there is an answer. please?

    thanks!

We need the smug mug developers to add this feature back. I am trying to tell people where, in a 400+ pic gallery, they can find their pics and it is a real pain without picture numbers.
