this is spud, a mallard drake, who was hatched from an egg found in my mother's garden in minneapolis. when she found it, she first thought it was a potato.....thus his name

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

thanks, everyone. i should add that Spud lives on our farm, so i don't have to go far to find mallard photos....i carried his egg around for two days after i got it from mom, and then stuck it in the incubator. we have about two dozen ducks, a dozen geese and i have lost track of the number of chickens. if it wasn't so darn cold, i would work on classier photos of them.
