While driving with my daughter to take her to college last week we pulled off of I80 to see the Great Salt Lake. The low clouds created a surreal kind of light and someone else happened to be viewing the lake as I took a panorama shot.

Also, you produce wonderful photos. I'd like to look at them when I have more time and try come up with some intelligent questions that might help me improve, if u don't mind. BTW I was out at Saguaro Lake with my brother back in April doing some off-roading with his kids. got a few pics in here of the lake, three sisters, the needle (I'm trying to recollect the right names)...

(It would also be nice to see the exif for images posted for commentary, you have metadata disabled in smugmug, and right click protection turned on so at least my browser exif viewers won't work.)
The figure on the right is one of the main features that sets this picture apart, that and the subtle gradations of color. I like the wave set that draws the eye towards the figure, but the patch of sand in the right front doesn't help the image as I see it. While the ripples and the waves might be interesting on their own, here the sand just interrupts the whole flow for me.
I'd consider cropping out the sand even at the expense of most of the waves.
I agree with you about cropping out the sand. Thanks for being willing to give some good input.
I've tried to use the postcard icon in the toolbar but it only prompts me for a link rather than allowing me to embed a photo. I've also tried embedding multiple photos using the "manage attachments" feature but it only lets me upload one. So I've got some technical difficulties ... or maybe just operator error... I'll keep trying to figure it out....
Yeah, it's asking you for the link/aka the web address where the photo is stored, so it can be embedded in the post. So get the link address from your smugmug site ready to paste in, either with your own img tag, or using the gui.
thanks. I tried that but it never actually embedded the image it only embedded the link so people have to click the link to go to my smugmug page and repeat that for each image. Another user suggested that this may be because I'm using the "old" smugmug. So I'll look into that. And thanks for taking the time to help. I appreciate it.
