Saving a Theme - Status?

I've seen several threads on this but nothing too recent. All seem to not be resolved. I have saved a couple of themes and they show up in "My Themes". However, I am trying to save one now by using Deep Ocean (abstract) and trying to modify the accent color to my liking. Even though I give it a name, it will not save when clicking "Done". Nothing happens and the pop-up just stays open.

Has anyone had their similar issue resolved?

    Heya Danny

Are you trying to modified the site wide theme, or a theme for just one page (or set of galleries/folders)

Can you provide the HEX Value of the accent color, and I will try it out on my end?

    Thanks!

I am trying to modify a site-wide theme, using Deep Ocean. It's not just if I try to change the accent color but also if I try to change the fonts. In fact, I don't even have to change anything.......just clicking the on the wrench icon, if I type a name to save on the pop-up for making modifications, it will not save. But for giggles, the color I was trying to change the accent to is #d20b0b. The font I was trying to use is "Play".

I've also noticed this strange tidbit. Even though I have only selected the Deep Ocean theme and made no modifications to it, the active theme shows only "Ocean". I've removed and redone this several times and it happens consistently. I'm also experiencing this using Chrome v.29 and FF v.23.

    *More Info*

I went through each section of themes and found that this only occurs on the following....

    *Textures
    *Patterns
    *Background Photos
    *Abstracts

The other sections (Design Theme, Smugmug, and Colors) allow me to save with no issue. I have replicated this on 2 different accounts (Business Pro, Power), 2 different pc's, FF and Chrome. Has to be a bug here.

Michael....any update on this? I have a helpdesk ticket open but it's going in circles with different heroes suggesting the same things over and over about me possibly using AdBlocker in my browser, etc. It would be helpful if each hero that replies on an email would actually READ the entire email so as not to duplicate suggestions. It's a complete waste of everyone's time and not to mention extremely frustrating. And, I'm not sure why they can't understand that if I can edit and save a theme as I mentioned in my last post, but cannot in only those specific 4 sections of themes, my browser is obviously not the problem. One hero did in fact go into my account and save a customized "Deep Ocean" theme to "My Themes". Remarkably, I am able to edit that one with no problem. Again, no problem with my browser. It's only the "Textures", "Patterns", "Background Photos", and "Abstracts" that are the problem with me being able to save with a customized name.

i think you try to save an existing theme
you should first create a new one , with its own name ,then save

No, you're missing the point. Any existing theme has the ability to be modified by clicking on the wrench and then saving it with your own name. That's the part that's not working in my scenario and only in those 4 theme sections as I mentioned. Creating a new theme from scratch is not part of the problem here.

    Hi Danny,

It worked for me on the First Go Around Theme. Can you check your site wide theme and let me know if the accent color and font are now updated?

    Thanks!

I just tried editing the smugmug dark theme and it allowed me to edit and save. But I want to use the 'Fiber' Theme by having small modifications...at least putting in some CSS... but it does not allow me to save the Fiber theme with a new name. Can anyone help please?

Smugmug contacted me with a response to my email as - "This is currently a bug we are looking into. It is affecting themes that have a background photo. If you remove the photo you should be able to save."
This does not really work for me now as I need the background photo in the theme. Waiting for the resolution of the bug.

Oh, so that's why my site changed today! I thought I was losing my mind. :D

Actually, I was having no problems changing and saving my active theme. It was only on the themes in the four sections I mentioned earlier in the thread. However, Tyree got me squared away with the Deep Ocean theme. He was able to edit and save it to My Themes. From there, I am able to edit and save that theme with no problem. I'm all set for now but he has sent this back to the QA group to take a look. Thanks for taking the time to help me out Michael. Much appreciated.

Yes it seems to be the background photos that wont let us save the changes to the theme, and as nearly all the themes have background photos it looks like we cant do anything at all with them. I'll check back in 3 months time, it might be fixed by then!
