Well, I just read it and found it very interesting. I was almost two years old at the time and a few years away from when our family was run out of the town of my birth simply because my father was colourblind, had black friends and the temerity to invite them to the church where he worked as the music minister.

The article was good. I just wish there were more images in the article from the 9 rolls of tri-x.

ps. most of the comments on the article were disgusting.

I would have liked to see it too. This is the second one I've clicked on that is gone. Where did you find the article? I'd like to educate myself more on the topic because I don't know about it.

A "Christian" congregation I am sure, Jenn.:-)

As to the photos, I wish I had them, but the paper is gone, along with the negatives. I have tried in vain to locate the archives, if they exist.

But frankly, I was 17, and just feeling my photographic way. The images from the 50th anniversary march are infinitely better.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you don't mind if I share the article with a few friends that I think might appreciate it. The photos are amazing, I wish I could have been there myself. This only makes photos like this all the more important. So many can't witness things like this on their own, pictures are the only way to do so. Lack of interest doesn't apply here.

    BD,

I don't know how long you had this up before deciding to remove it, but I'm glad you put it back.

    Thanks,

    Bob

tx, I was just asking for this in another post of yours where it said 'Removed..'
Beautiful shots! Thank you. And I like how you present them. I love all kinds if photography, but street documentary is the best.

BD I can't imagine what that experience must have been like. I'm so glad you've posted this. In hindsight, if you could speak to your 17 year old self prior to the assignment, what would you say to him?
