HS Football wk 1, first time with D4

Had a fun night on Friday using the D4 for the first time. I am paired with a 70-200 f/2.8. Most notable to me was what I expected: the loss of reach from my DX D7000 is painful. I am going to get my hands on some longer glass for next week. I also have a lot to learn. Using AF-ON to focus is a new technique I need to practice. I also ran into some situations where the stadium lights reflecting off the turf hurt some of my shots. I guess the more sensitive sensor takes some learning.

Here are a few. The full gallery is here: http://www.adamcartwright.com/Sports/Football/Football-2013/2013-CVHS-Varsity-vs-Brighton/

Nice work. Yes, 200mm on a full frame is pretty tough. I'm really loving my new 120-300 Sigma. Also, you'd better get used to having to back off the luminance in your greens when shooting on artificial turf under lights. It can otherwise look neon.

I agree - nice set - very good images. As John mentions, you should consider toning things down a bit - reds and greens are a bit over-saturated. But, that's easily fixed. You've caught some great action and final framing looks good.
