Site-wide password kills keywords and search for visitors

In unveiled password-protected sites, the following issues for visitors are seen:
1. Recent Photos block returns 'No Photos Found'.
2. Search returns zero results for any and all searches.
3. Keywords are not visible i.e /keyword page is empty.
It seems that setting a site-wide password kills keywords and search for visitors.
