[Fixed] Email Address Change

Please would a hero answer me urgently here? I have also written to the helpdesk, but can't wait 24 hours for a reply, unfortunately.

I changed my registered email address for my account here at SM about two weeks ago. I am ready to send out emails to a client for an event, but the mail that is being sent out is from my old address.

Why has this not updated, or am I doing something wrong?

You have your email address that you use to log into SmugMug, which can be found and changed in the Account Settings > Me > Account page. Then you have the Customer Contact email which can be changed by clicking your username > Profile > About Me. Make sure you change it in both places.

    Hi Zac

    Thanks for the help.

They were both set to the new email address about two weeks ago, but the mail coming from the event is the old address.

Welcome :). One is @gmail and one is @apertureplus right now. Which one is the new one?

I see them both as the same email address:

Unless I am not understanding you, where is the gmail account?

    Hi AperturePlus

The gmail address was your confirmed email address on your Legacy Site. Your @apertureplus.comemail address is the confirmed email address for your New SmugMug Site.

    Hi Scott

Where do I go (other than where Zac has indicated - as they are both the same) to make sure that the mails coming from the event are being sent from he correct mailbox?

    Thanks
    Clive

When did you unveil your site? I don't know why this is happening, everything seems to be set up correctly right now. The only thing I can think is that maybe the event was created before you unveiled and that somehow caused this problem.

So, did you create the event before unveiling?

Can you try deleting this event and creating it from scratch, or start a brand new duplicate so that the favorites from this event aren't lost?

Hi Zac. The change of email happened after the unveiling. The unveil was about three weeks ago and the mail change was a few days later. The event was created this weekend.

I will try deleting it and will try again.

Thanks for the info and please let me know if that fixes the problem. I will send this over to our QA team - there might be a bug here.

    Hi Zac

I deleted the event and recreated it, but the mails are still going out from the old address.

Sending myself a test mail was sent from the incorrect mailbox and I also setup a test participant and that person received a mail from the wrong address.

Thanks Zac. Please would you then move this or put up the bug in the bug list?

It has now been a week with no resolve.

I am confused how difficult it can be to figure out why SM Events is grabbing an old email address? As I said earlier, if this is a bug, it needs to be put in the Bug Forum.

Please would someone update me on the status of this. It is now costing me money for this Pro feature!

    Hey Michael

I think that I may have picked up another issue with Events... with the template email that is customisable for notifying participants about events, we can save changes to the default template if we choose.

I did make changes to the standard template and saved the changes. The template remained the way that I changed it to last week, but last night, I went to send out an invitation to a participant and noticed that the changes that I made, had somehow reverted to the default template.

Seems like there might be a glitch there as well?

    Regards
    Clive
