why not add the number of times the download button is used ?

This would be extremely handy. I'm not sure if you're in New SmugMug yet or Legacy, but it would be handy in both / either.

Essentially when a photo is viewed it is downloaded. There really isn't a way to differentiate when a person intentionally saves an image to their computer between when they just view it and the image is downloaded to their browser cache.
