Can't Delete Private Galleries

When I log in to my home page I have 4 of the 48 galleries that are empty and marked private. I do have 2 public galleries of the same name that should be there. the 4 private galleries do not appear in the Organizer so I can't delete them. I want to get rid of them so I can display 4 more public galleries on the home page. I get page not found when I click on the gallery link. Help.

    I cleared everything out in Internet Explorer. After I posted this problem I changed the gallery settings on the homepage to one folder and saved it. I then went back in and selected "Choose Galleries" and I no longer have the extra galleries. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks. Thanks for the help.
