Caption in Collage Landscape doesn't match caption in Lightbox

Italics set in "Edit photo info" show as italics in Lightbox but not in Collage Landscape.

Further testing indicates that the italics also don't show in Collage Portrait and Thumbnail style galleries. They do show in SmugMug style, default style and Journal galleries.

    Found time to try that.
Makes no difference. The span works in Lightbox but not in Collage Landscape.
    Here's where I've tried it: http://beardedgit.smugmug.com/Fellwalking/Day-Walks/YHA-Eskdale/i-DhkRwxF/A

In my experience, html doesn't work in captions on the collage settings. I often use links in my captions (to More from this Event), and they do not work on the gallery page, just in Lightbox.

I think SM has some work to do on the flexibility of the collage layouts, especially since they have come out of the gate as a widely popular style.

Has there been any progress towards fixing this bug?
It's not even on the "Active Bug" list.

Just as a note, in some cases current issues that are escalated can take a bit more time to resolve. Apologies for any inconvenience and thanks for your patience while we work on this for you. Please standby.

Still no word about this, and it's still not on the "Active Bug" list.

This is preventing the proper display of binomial nomenclature in captions.

    Example: http://beardedgit.smugmug.com/Everything-else/In-the-garden/Butterflies-2010

    Extract from Wikipedia:
    Writing binomial names

By tradition, the binomial names of species are usually typeset in italics; for example, Homo sapiens. Generally, the binomial should be printed in a font different from that used in the normal text; for example, "Several more Homo sapiens fossils were discovered."

And it's so obvious for anyone to see it's (still) not working at all.

Hope they can and will fix these annoying bugs asap.

    Hi Bearded,

This isn't a bug. The formatting wasn't ever being displayed on the Collage galleries. I have submitted this as a feature request and will keep you posted as updates become available.

    Hi Bearded,

    This isn't a bug....

Call it whatever you like, Michael, it still displays the caption correctly in some gallery formats but incorrectly in others.

I'll cut you a deal... you lot fix it and I'll stop going on about it. Then it won't matter what you call it. mwink.gif

No news, no fix, no further response from Helpdesk despite the escalation to the technical department.
