Become a Trigger Channel on IFTTT

As a Trigger Channel one can set up "recipes" to automatically notify/post/other options on a host of other social media/email/blog/etc sites each time a photo is uploaded to your Smugmug site (or other things happen on that upload depending on how one sets up the "Trigger" rules). This saves a great deal of time and allows one to pull folks back to the Smug site from other social media and blog sites.
500PX, Flickr are triggers channels now. A simple upload to those locations with (my recipe rule) a tag of "IFTTT" on the photo posts that image with description on 6 other locations automatically.

Easiest thing to is go to www.IFTTT.com and set up a "recipe." it is actually quite logical once you get past the buzzwords--i didn't explain well.
You pick a "trigger" from a list of 'Trigger Channels" used by the site. I chose my Flickr site. Authorize your Flickr site to see IFTTT, and it then becomes the first part of your recipe-or trigger. So now when I upload a photo to my "trigger" I need to specify an action.
Now I pick an action from the list of sites on IFTTT that can react to my trigger. In my case, gmail. Whenever I upload to Flickr, a gmail with text I put in on the IFTTT site goes to the list of contacts I specify. Automatically. You can trigger your blog if it is one of IFTTT supported blogs (tumblr, blogger, etc).
You can build many recipes for Flickr--or other triggers. It automates workflow. You can use the IFTTT time and date trigger to automate announcements, ring your I phone, even turn lights on and off with the new Belkin wifi light switch with got added to IFTTT as one of the available actions.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Jim

Just wondering if there is any word. I would LOVE to have my iOS photos automatically go to a SmugMug album. I manage to keep filling my iCloud storage, and have to MANUALLY move around. Help a girl out!
As of now, the best way to do this would be through a future version of the iOS app, in which it would automatically upload your photos to SmugMug.

If you want to have automatic upload now take a look at photosync, it should be able to do automatic uploads to Smugmug.
