Lightbox persistent controls option

All the controls in the Lightbox disappear in about 2 seconds. They reappear with any mouse activity. This is under javascript control, so can't be modified.
If someone uses keyboard controls to browse the lightbox (L/R arrow keys, escape), the controls are likely to disapear and never reappear. Thus, they are likely to lose awareness of the "other sizes", "download", "add to cart", and photo id.
Would like the option to leave those controls on (persistent), or as a compromise re-activate them on left/right arrow the same as mouse navigation.
