One or two images stuck on "processing"...

Hello, there!

I'm wondering if I'm the only one with this problem. I searched 6 pages back and didn't see anything.

Often, I'll upload ~30 images to a new gallery, and they almost all process quickly and seamlessly. However, increasingly, there's always one or two images that never get "processed", and seem to get stuck "processing" forever. I can fix it by deleting and re-uploading it, but that's a fix I shouldn't have to make. Sometimes, I'll miss a "stuck" image if it's a gallery with multiple pages. Annoying.

Is it just me? Or is SM aware of this problem and trying to fix it?

Thanks!

-Tom

    Hi Tom,

I am very sorry for your trouble.

This could happen during the upload process - interrupted connection or something similar. The uploaded image is corrupted and the system cannot process it.

The only solution for this is to delete the not processed image and upload it again.

That's rubbish tomnovy. It's a long standing problem that SmugMug can't be bothered fixing. It's interesting to note that it has transformed from an acknowledged problem to normal behaviour (in the other current thread dealing with this), and now to an upload problem. Even more interesting is that this problem doesn't occur with any other site.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one with this problem that won't accept it. I pay a lot of money a year for SmugMug Pro, and long-standing issues like this make me wonder what they're doing with that money.

This has been happening forever with SM, well before the new SM was unveiled. They DO eventually process, usually within an hour or so, but sometimes even longer. It has nothing to do with corrupted uploads, the images are fine, or else they would never work.

Exactly Adam. I'd be much more tolerant if we weren't so obviously lied to.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but am scrolling looking for something else and saw this. I've had a lot of trouble with this over the last week. Much more so than I did with the old smugmug. I haven't been patient enough to wait and see if the photos would ever get processed. I've given up and deleted them and re-uploaded. It's a pain.

I don't think anything is going to be done about it, lbruby. It seems to have become a feature now, rather than being considered a problem.

I have been doing what you are doing for years and it is still doing that to this day. I gave up hoping for a fix.
