Red Bull & the sports photographer
I was watching a piece on Red Bull and their sponsorship of nearly 1100 events over any given year and I thought it's been great for athletes-bigger events, better venues, and sponsorships. It's great for sports. Almost all their events receive a lot of media coverage. A lot of focus on Red Bull and the money it spends on, effectively, marketing.
But what has it done for independent sports photographers? Has it made it easier to find outlets for sports images? What are the opportunities afforded credentialed media?
I suppose it could also be a broader question by expanding it to any promoter but it sure seems like RB has it's hands in a lot of events these days.
