Archives and sorting images

I'm tired of Picasa and all the times that are rooted in my pictures, so I'm looking for a more pro tool for keeping track of 20 years of digital images.

Features that are in Picasa and I would like to ha 'again is the scanning of faces, and the ability to quickly find pictures where a provision person enters or more persons ......

Do well but need not be freeware
