Date page disregardes the date taken EXIF field

When I call my mysite.smugmug.com/date page, all 19.500 Images are listed in year 2013 months July, August and September when I uploaded the images to the new smugmug. But the most images have a correctly filled "date taken" field with dates in the past. I checked it whith the Info popup windows in the lightbox.
Why doesn't SM read an sort after the date taken fields? Did I something wrong?

    Try sorting by first or last, it messed up also. And what ever PhotoRank means is useless.
