Nelsen Dewey State Park - Wisconsin

While not super exotic I thought I'd still share some shots I'd taken of a weekend trip my family took. We're transplants from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin so we're trying to explore a bit when we have time. Recently we thought we'd see what the bluffs above the Mississippi River where like. We had no idea it was a vast wildlife refuge that stretched from Illinois to the south, all the way up to Minnesota to the north.

I'll not bore you with the details of the trip here on the forum. If you are at all interested though I wrote a blog post about it, which you can read here.

My daughter gets her first look at the river valley below.

There's a section of native, wild prairie remnant still to be found in this park. It's full of interesting, beautiful flowers. This is also my favorite shot from the park.

There are some spectacular spots where you can just sit and watch the river flow.

Naturally, we all had to go dip our toes in the "Mighty Mississip."

    That second posted shot is fantastic! That said, I wished you had got more of the sun at the top and maybe a flare for mood.
