Easier Caption/Keyword editing

Bring back legacy-style caption and keyword editing (without needing to go through multiple clicks to open the photo details box).

Here's how easy it was to add keywords in legacy:



And here's what the same thing looks like now:



We can't see the picture we're trying to tag and it takes much longer to reach the tool. It doesn't make sense. You had it right the first time. Please bring it back.

+1...it is a real pain to try and keyword a photo you can't see, especially when you're trying to tag people in a photo. You can open a text editor and enter keywords there so you can see the photo, then paste them into the box...but that's a pretty silly and unnecessary workaround.

Then they had to nail the box right in the middle covering most of what you can see.

Please let us have this facility returned.
Too much clicking going on with the new SmugMug and not enough intuitive navigation.

+1 for this from me too. (No, I'm not on NewSmug but I see the screenshots. Say no more) Oh James, I love your British words... so when something is a "doddle", it's a good thing, huh??!! I love it.

So that Legacy editing was just a piece o' cake, hmm?! Simple as pie? Easy as 1 2 3 ? Like falling off a log? Like a knife through hot butter? A no-brainer? Child's play? Like shooting fish in a barrel?! Yup, I agree-- it was a doddle indeed!

Hahahaha! Excellent! Yes, and you, Beardedgit, have quite the collection of word-gems yourself! It lightens up the mood around here sometimes; gives us a chuckle. Are your captions as catchy? I'll have to take a look!

Thank you, even though it frightens me to think how long a feature request to be able to edit captions is gonna take. And when again, it seems much more like a bug to not be able to see one's photo while editing (& do extra clicks) than it seems like a "needed feature". I still think we need some kind of in-between category so looking at the "Feature Requests" forum wouldn't freak us out so badly.

One thing that would help a lot in the bulk key wording area would be if you gave us larger, correct perspective thumbnails so we could see what we were adding keywords and captions to. And the ability to click to view larger would also help.

They did make one change... the photo details tool is now moveable and doesn't gray out the background so you can move it off the photo. That's a nice change but I sure hope they don't think that's enough. I still use legacy mode for almost all caption and keyword editing because of how poorly designed new smug is in that area. I'd like to unveil someday.
