Keyword question for SEO

I am wondering about a method I am using for image keywords. I do not have more than 30 keywords, so I don't have the issue of having to insure my top keywords are in the top 30 (the rest get thrown away apparently by SmugMug).

What I DO do is at the end of my list, I add "Troup Nightingale, Troup, Nightingale, photographer, photography". So, this is in the keywords for ALL my images. Is this an issue for the search engines? Like maybe they see the full name and then the sub-names and decide it is repetitive and don't like it - maybe. Really do not see anyone in particular searching for "photographer, Nightingale", but I like to think maybe SOMEONE will at some time.:D

Just wondered what those in the know think about this.

EDIT: Just did a Google search on "photographer Nightingale" and had lots of first pages hits - so, seems to work - just not as well as I might have expected considering I have over 20,000 images keyworded this way (well maybe not in the beginning in 2006).

I would think placing the same keyword in every photo on your site would be viewed as a form of spam.

If people don't know you they won't be using your name as search criteria and expecting to see individual photos - it's more likely they will be looking for a description of your services or other customer's reactions to your services. If they have heard of you they need to find your site, not individual photos. If they haven't heard of you they won't be searching using your name since they don't know it.

I agree with what Denise said. Photo keywords should provide relevant information on that specific photo, like the location and what / who is in the photo. The photo is already on your site and therefore linked to your site metadata.

Good advice! Hmmm, now to figure the best way to remove them from around 20,000 images!

Hmmmm also have them in the Gallery keyword section on all galleries.
